World Food Day 2013: sustainable food systems for food security and nutrition.

16th October is World Food Day. The theme for 2013 is Sustainable Food Systems for Food Security and Nutrition. In keeping with the day's goals of improving understanding of the problems and solutions around food insecurity, we have collected articles from across BioMed Central covering recent research into agriculture and nutrition for food security.

All the articles are free to read and we hope you find something to interest you. We've included everything from documenting how rural populations use wild plants sustainably, to assessing food poverty in Texas, to measuring the impact of reducing global food waste.
